AKSHAY’S win

Over after two decades finally Akshay Kumar won the award and that too the most prestigious one in the Hindi Film industry. Awarded for the work in Rustom where he  portrayed the role of Naval Officer Rustom Pavri who shot his wife’s lover and later, during a long-drawn court battle, revealed how the culprit had hatched a plan which could threaten national security. While the film made money at the box-office, critics all over thrashed it for being extremely stretched and for its confusing plot.
The star took to his social networking handles to share his shock, happiness and excitement on their wins. It wasn’t long before he had wishes pouring in from fans, friend and all corners of the film industry.  With the appreciation he has been facing disliking for his award winning. Questions arising are did actually Ahshay Kumar’s performance truely deserve a national award? While Priyadarshan says that why people are questioning his win? The chairperson of the feature film section for the National Film Awards, says he does not understand why people are questioning his frequent collaborator Akshay Kumar’s best actor win. The filmmaker has collaborated with Akshay in several films like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhaag, Bhool Bhulaiya, De Dana Dan and Khatta Meetha. The filmmaker clarified that Akshay’s performance in Rustom and Airlift were considered by the jury during the selection process. However, as only the name of one film could be mentioned, the list featured the courtroom drama Rustom, he said.

People thinks that  Akshay Kumar wasn’t at his best in Rustom. His performance as Pavri was restrained to the fault and extremely bland. With minimal emotions and poor dialogue delivery, Akshay was unable to live up to the expectations and gave a below average performance.   He won the best actor award and according to me he should be appreciated for his work more than to be hated and questioned.
