With the release of  BEAUTY AND THE BEAST . international reports claims that her role has placed her on the track to becoming Hollywood’s highest-earning star of 2017.  Watson told vanity fare that she worked with Disney to update her character for the live-action version of its 1991 cartoon: In this latest version, Belle wears more practical clothing, is an inventor in her own right, and often asserts her love of reading. Watson even asked renowned feminist writer Gloria Steinem to watch the film and make sure it aligned with feminist principles.Still its not a feminist movie.  Beauty and the Beast is an odd film in many ways, even as it adheres to the safest routes of storytelling. Much of the film is a near-identical replication of the original, down to repeated dialogue and recreations of iconic scenes. It’s a redundant method of film-making, but it also makes sense from a cold-hearted business point of view: Why fix what isn’t broken, especially when that formula has proven so profitable and helps with strengthening the brand? That’s not to say that the film is totally without new additions, but the small shifts made in aid of evolving the stories and characters to fit changing sensibilities ultimately rob the story of much of its emotional depth. Several of these changes were heavily lauded in the press by the cast and crew of the film as part of the extensive promotional campaign. Emma Watson, who plays Belle, took great pains to emphasize the feminist nature of the character – a topic of passionate discussion in feminist film critic circles – and play up the newly added elements of the film that supposedly gave her more agency than was present in the original story. The symbol of this evolution was the washing machine, invented by Belle to ease her workload and give her more time to read, which Watson said was a symbol of the town’s distrust of her. Given the build-up dedicated to this device in the publicity for the film, it’s something of a letdown to finally see the crucial scene and have it be so utterly inconsequential.

The ace comedian is once again making news, but for all the wrong reasons. Popular comedian and host Kapil Sharma has been grabbing the eyeballs since Saturday for two completely different reasons. The first one being the news of him introducing his lady love Ginni to the world and the second one of him allegedly having a fight and beating up Sunil Grover on a flight. Now, Kapil has finally opened up on the said incident and has racted in his trademark style. As per a BollywoodLife report, he said, “Mujhe yaad nahi (I don’t remember). Actually hamari har flight mei ladai hoti hai (We fight on every flight), har jagah ladai hoti hai (We fight everywhere). It is a healthy fight. We fight for work. We fight for good work.”
However, Kapil once again came out clean as Sunil EXCLUSIVELY admitted that it was his decision to cancel the promotions and not Kapil’s. While everything seems honky dory between the two, there is a part of me that still asks if there is something more than what meets the eye. What do you think ? Are the stories of their rivalry just a publicity gimmick or do they really have some grounding ?

If television nostalgia means anything to the millennials, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, will grab a major share of their memories. Thanks to this mad-house, our growing up years became oh-so-memorable. Be it Rosesh Sarabhai’s lame but highly memorable poems, the burns Maya Sarabhai gave to Monisha, Indravadan’s jokes at the expense of everyone and Monisha’s super-amazing bargaining skills — Sarabhai vs Sarabhai gave us a lot to laugh about.

When Sarabhai vs Sarabhai first went on air, the Gujarati family culture became an instant hit with the small screen viewers. Following its footsteps and success mantra, many more shows were based on the same community . The show follows the eccentricities of the Sarabhai family, an upper middle class family living in South Bombay. The family consists of Indravadan Sarabhai (Satish Shah) and his wife Maya (Ratna Pathak), who live in an apartment with their younger son Rosesh (Rajesh Kumar). Their older son Sahil (Sumeet Raghavan) and his wife Monisha Sarabhai(Rupali Ganguly) live in the apartment across the hallway.

Good news! The show which gave us some of the best moments on Indian television between 2004 and 2006, is returning. Now, no need to stream it online or watch its downloaded seasons on your laptops.

“We had a couple of rounds of discussion with our writer and producer regarding this. But then it didn’t work out the way we wanted to, so we thought to do something else with it,” Deven told PTI.

It was jubilation time for fans of the cult show as producer JD Majethia announced that the show would return by May as a web-series on Hotstar. The show has taken a leap of seven years. The cast and crew will begin shooting from the end of March. Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai stars Sumeet Raghavan, Rupali Ganguly, Ratna Pathak Shah, Satish and Rajesh Kumar. It seems some new characters will be added on the show. Look tests have already been done for the characters.

“After the show wrapped up, all of us, including the actors, got busy with other commitments. However, at every public event and even at private functions in the last 10 years, I was always asked when Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was returning. It was public demand which finally compelled us to set aside everything else and concentrate on developing a quality script which lives up to the audience’s expectations. Shooting will continue all through April. We are targeting a May release,” informs actor-producer-director Jamnadas Majethia .

Soon the laughter medicine will be on your mobiles and laptops. Just wait and watch!!!

Roadies has always been interesting but this year the hype is even higher. Along with the the Roadies fame Ranvijay Singha, Prince Narula, Actress Neha Dhupiya and television actor Karan Kundra, the show has been joined by cricketer Harbhajan Singh. He would not be a team leader but will definitely bring amazing twists and turns in the show with his powers.
The show has started to air but there were recent news that Harbhajan might leave the show because of a spat with Neha Dhupia. A source from the sets informed, “While shooting for an audition episode, Rannvijay, Neha, Karan and Prince wanted to test a contestant by making him face his biggest fear. They made him sit on a chair and decided to electrocute him. To make matters worse, Neha suggested that water be poured on his feet. That’s when Harbhajan lost his cool, and said, “This is wrong. Just to do a task, you might end up hurting the guy. He could die. I am not going to be part of this.” To this Neha told Harbhajan that, “You can throw googlies on us but you cannot tell us what to do.”
Roadies Rising had also been in news for the “gang leader” Kundra for slapping a male contestant  who had claimed that he had slapped her sister once, therefore being replaced by another MTV Anchor Nikhil Chinnapa.
While I get that Roadies Rising is trying to rise above itself and give us a lesson in civility, it would have been far more effective using just one contestant as an example. This is a morality lesson prolonged to a point where it becomes a spectacle and nothing more.  A contestant who is lesbian, came out to her parents on camera. And a paanwallah’s son, who till a few months back lived in a house without a bathroom and now has shifted to a house with an attached loo, came on the show and spoke of how he did a number of jobs and had saved money for his parents and how his sister was now a lecturer.
Four celebrity “gang leaders”. One fame-hungry star off-spinner. And a whole bunch of physically abusive people slapping each other up. How can you possibly not want to watch this show?
